Here is a copy of the ordinance that was voted on last Thursday. According to the ordinance if you add on a room or build a shed you will now need to get a permit. Read it and tell me what you think. And guess what the land use officer gets to determine if your project is consistent with the counties land use plan. Those are just some of the little details that the local media failed to list. But don't worry I am sure they will tell you this won't affect you until you decide to build something they don't want.

Anybody know how the vote went last Thursday.

I just wonder if the Commissioners read the ordinance kinda like the Congress on the Health Care Bill. The first few pages are cut and pasted from the "Land Useage" manual. Then the county adopted from other Counties to form this new ZONEING LAW. You can put the lipstick on the pig but it's still the pig wearing lipstick.... It will take a couple of cups of coffee for me to read it all....lol... Not today though, I've done got a headach trying to read it....

Thanks for running by and getting us a copy of it.... More than likely this will be the only place that has it listed. We all know that "Tha Fluffer" will only print what he is told....lol..lol...

Very disappointing.

According to the independent, a public hearing will be held at 5:30 pm on March 31 with a special called meeting to vote on the issue at 6:00 pm that evening.

And here is how it sneaks in. Here is the template used:
http://www.dca.state.ga.us/development/ ... nances.pdf

Here is a link of how to slip it in based on the model code:

another link:

Here is where you can read all about how to pass an ordinance under the term land use instead of zoning.

I think tonights news kinda answered this question. All Mr. Rumley could say is that his job was to represent what Dade County wanted. Did they want all this???? When asked about such things as the "Building Permits" the Commissioners said they were "Working" to take that out of it...lol...lol... Didn't they read it in the first place.... Just askin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With all those pages I am guessing all the commissioners didn't read the bill. If they did why did everyone of them vote for this ordinance when they all campaigned against zoning? If they did why will they be ducking and diving? Watch them take out the building permit section at the next meeting. Maybe if they didn't shoot from the hip and waited a week for the regular meeting they would of taken that part out before voting. I have already stated to hear about many upset about this.

I did in fact ask a Commissioner yesterday that very question if he had read all the ordinance and he admitted that he still hasn't finished reading it all. He did confirm that they were looking to downsize it and take alot of it out. I also asked the question of why they had called a "Special Called Meeting" just for the Resolution and then had the first reading the next week for the ordinance. He asurred me that they thought it was necessary.
