I don't want this ordinance (another freedom-limiting law) mandating how I (or my children, when I die) can divide my land.
This ordinance would even put regulations, on just how and what must be approved concerning private roads within my land.
How can I know when this ordinance will be read again, before it is passed? Please tell me it hasn't passed yet.

And as for changing my views if someone put in a hog farm next door...Of course I wouldn't love it. But I'd rather keep live with less regulations than more. I'd rather get to have more choices than less.

Would it make a difference if more people showed up to oppose the ordinance next week?

If you see the resolution intitle Resolution Opposing Industrial Davelopment In Residential and Agricultural Areas of Dade County keep in mind this:
1. If it was passed as written it creates spot zoning which the courts have ruled against time and time again.
2. It is a resolution and not an ordinance so it is now law the way I understand it.
3. It was ammended to include all of Dade County not just this Wildwood Site.
4. It bases it's rule of law on two principles. (A) The solid waste management plan. The courts have upheld one case where a county fought a new solid waste facility(landfill) coming in because of not being part of the plan. That county had a procedure in place for a new land fill. A permit that was tied to the solid waste management plan. We have none of this. I would think it would be a far stretch to link oder to be inconsistant with the plan. This type of development has nothing to do with solid waste disposal. (B) The second principle it uses is the comprehensive plan. The comprehinsive plan is a tool goverments are required to do by the planning act to plan for the future. It is not a zoning document. Just a best guess of how the county will grow. There is a different document that restircts development and this is called zoning. Some communities call this a comprehensive land use ordinance some call it a zoning ordinance some call it a growth plan but, this is a local ordinance that is passed and has way more detail than the comprehesive plan as called for in the document required by the state planning act.
5. The amount of water required to create a paper mill is not available at the site. I drive by top flite everyday in town and I smell no order. Pulp production requires way more water than the current commision could comprehend. Why do you think they always locate on a major river or bay.

Funny thing is if this resolution had any teeth they would have most likely restricted a lot of good ole boy property as it was admended to include the whole county.
Still the spirirt is zoning. As I said before when does it stop. The first chance is next Nov. 2.

Again this is another example of Ready, Fire, Aim here in Dade County. Until Wed. I had not even heard that such a Resolution was being drawn up. Now, I've really not had the time to look into this but just seems funny that once again we are just throwing out GOVERMENT to cover what we don't want. I'm not against having a Community or County that I can be proud of, but you can't just go around and say, I'm not "fer it" so I'll make a law against it. Now a Resolution is NOT A LAW but it is on the path of such. It shows the direction that someone wants this county to go. I just want folks to make up their own mind on this issue. It's doesn't seem right to me, but it's your mind that has to be made up. I only try to make folks aware of what the Truth is here and not cover up for anyone. I would love to see a room full of people asking questions Thursday night because I know the local media will be to scared to ask. I know I have already read one form of media on this issue and it should have read.... TED SAID!! So let your voice be heard and maybe it will wake up those who are asleep at the wheel...

Does this ordinance have to have two readings? If so, the one was this past Thursday. ALL voted for the ordinance. Commission meeting is this Thursday, Nov 5. WAKE UP DADE COUNTY. Attend the meetings, find out what is going on.

Unlike Carpet, Cars, and socks...People will always buy Toilet Paper but once again we jump to the conclusion that the buisness will be bad. Smell seems to be the big thing so just remember the prevailing winds blow toward Chattanooga what better way to send them the message we are still here. "Damn the Jobs...Save the noses". Sorry people the only smell we are smelling is a decaying job market for our residents... Remember the 2 Feed Mills that wanted to locate here and they was rejected because they smelled to bad...Look Across the Tennessee Line and Smell the jobs and Tax Money they bring into Tennessee... However we did get something from one of them and that was a "Smelly Garage"...
