That is true, but I was thinking more about the fact that our high school has a bible class, our sheriff isn't afraid to commission a religious billboard, and in several things we still have that "small town" feel. You are right about not surviving, I have seen several small towns in Kansas dying away a piece at a time - some of them even have Wal-marts, movie theaters, etc. - but I believe in some respects Dade has a good mix....we definitely could stand more industry.

You can have a small town 'feel' and still have elected officials who are living in the the 21st Century and think of how there decisions effect ALL of those in the county. Care must be taken too with 'religion' in public squares, there are many different religious 'flavors' and we do need to get along -- public officials supporting or giving more credence to one over another will cause division not unity.
