I had to laugh and wonder what "JOB" has been discussed with Ronnie Page in order to get him to leave because of "Personal Reasons". He has twice voted against the system and I have to say that he is a man of his word and that's pretty impressive of these days in Dade County. Thanks to Ronnie Page for at least voting "FOR" the taxpayers of Dade County. I just wonder if he will be found in the endzone of the "Football Feild" messing with the SYSTEM!....lol...lol..lol... Don't mess with the SUPER and the SYSTEM!

Rex, ya know. I am so Happy that Ronnie voted no. I made the last post on the Dade County Forum and I posted my opinion on facebook and thanks to D.Y. now I can post on here. Like I said, I am not at all suprised that Mr. Swader was hired. Politics and Persuasion go hand in hand in Dade County. Oh, but less we forget that there are hmmmmm........few hundred kids involved that truely need an education and not an edumacation? A loss of words you will never find me but a loss of respect for the other school board members, our superintendent and our Athletic Director as well as a couple school principals........MOST DEFINITELY

WELCOME, You have now become an "Official Troublemaker" here in Dade County... You have picked a fight with what we call the 900 Pound Gorilla (being the school system). If you get time you can go back to all the post in this section and see we agree but the respect was lost a long time ago. How ironic that you ran into this problem soon after Mrs. Thorton has gotton over her's.. It's always a "Battle" to get the school system to do the right thing. For years I have kept my mouth shut thinking since I had no child, I had no fight. This school system has been out of control for years covering the wrong with fear and intimidation...Throw in the term... "It's fer the kids" and you can just about get away with anything in this system, while "The Kids" are the ones who suffer..There will always be those like myself who wanted to play more than learn, but with the competition for jobs now days you have to have quality education to be able to teach those who want to learn. Most school systems in general play "The Money Game" and that's what is hurting the System... It all about "Tha Money" and nuthin about "Tha Kids"!

I so agree with you and I have lived through it, went to school in Dade County and luckly graduated with, i believe, 132 graduates in my class of 91'. I am not gonna sit back and watch my child go through Dade County School System and our School System not care about her or any of the other kids education. I am taking a stand. People can love me for it or hate me for it. This is my county also. I am qualified to teach. I taught 4 years of schools. I have passed the tests. I didn't even get an interview. Well, anyways, you know what I am saying. I am not about the money but about the kids. I always have been. I will take my daughter out of school and home school her then to let her receive have the education than what she would if I send her through the K12 GA Academy. My daughter is in sports and I think that is great for the kids but the education must come first. I lettered all 4 years in Track, Softball, And Basketball but wished I would have gotten more out of my education. I struggled through college but I made by the grace of God. I hope that citizens and teachers of our county will start standing up for what is right. I am only 1 and so are you. I was on Channel 7 Monday night and I am supposed to be back on this Monday. I just need people to stand with me and not behind me. Ya know?

I used to think I wanted to teach high school but after looking at how little control over your classes (added to the fact that I"m not "qualified" to teach HS, only college, since I only have an MBA and over 30 years experience in business and most importantly, no teaching degree) I think I'd just end up constantly in a fight. Guess I'll leave government school teaching to the professionals and focus on home schooling my daughter.

Well gadawg, many have traveled the path you wish to take and are a little worse for wear because of it. Here in Dade County you are part of the "System" or part of the "Problem".

Yea, believe me, I understand but when you least expect it from someone you least expect it from... Watch OUT! This is a very "Personal Agenda Driven County"! Some will pat you on the back, tell you how wonderful you are for standing up and then STAB YOU IN THE BACK!

I know what you are saying Rex and I know where I have taken a stand that people will give me a "pat on the back" and then go and say something totally opposite to someone else. It has already happened. What goes around comes around and I have seen that happen several times. I guess now is just to sit back and see what happens. Sad thing is, is that our kids suffer the consequences of the so called "Big Gorilla" as well as the teachers that are "booted" after the first or second year. Ugh.............. very frustrating!

Hear how quite everthing is about the hiring of Swader? That's how it will stay as long as the media and the inner circle have anything to do with trying to control the outer circle...

Because of having to mow grasss in this hot weather, I chose to mow instead of watching the Dumb and Dumber show, Monday nite and since I'm the only one here that watches the show (mainly to see how stupid it is), I did want to see the replay...

Couldn't help but notice that gadawg wasn't on the show and as a matter of fact the one host was kinda stand offish on the topic of the school system. You know the one who's husband was on the school board who didn't know how to keep her trap shut...lol... Well she was trying the crawfish on the topic served with the dash of blaming her co-host on having a troublemaker on the show. Notice my earlier post on alliances and back-stabbing you will be able to figure this one out. Not one thing was said about Swader... HHHMMM
