I am sure it was just a small oversite on the part of the city...after all 100 yards of a church would exclude all resturants in the city lol.
Hey, you just hit on a better move than the petition... Just open a few more Churches in the City and there won't be no place for a Resturant. I mean after all Trenton does have more Churches per Sq. 100 yards than alot of Cities. All it will take is getting mad at your local Church, going to the Local Bank, and letting the money flow in once you open the Doors on your own Church! That seems to happen here alot in this County....

When EVERONE wants their "Piece of the Square" it is hard to place restrictions on what and what can't be built or done next door to one another. I guess we will use the Rodney King attitude... "Can't we just all get Along"...

Liquor By The Drink Ordinance Approved On First Reading For Lookout Mountain, Tn.by Dana Wilbourn posted November 9, 2010
The Lookout Mountain, Tn. Commissioners on Thursday approved on first reading an ordinance to repeal the town’s prohibition of alcohol sales and allow up to three on-premise consumption licenses in the commercial district. Three more licenses for carryout sales would also be allowed.
Mayor Greg Brown said the town is allowed to opt out of the state’s regulation of hours for alcohol sales as long as the town’s ordinance is more stringent than the state regulations. The town will allow alcohol sales from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. Sunday sales will be set from noon to 11 p.m., the mayor said.
Town Attorney Brian Smith said the commissioners will sit as the town’s Beer Board and all license application requests must be heard by the board. Applicants must be a resident of the state and have a financial interest in the business listed on the application. Alcohol and wine licenses are regulated and controlled by the state, he said.
Attorney Smith read the ordinance to the commissioners prior to approval. Other stipulations in the ordinance include opaque containers to be used for drinks served on an outside patio or sidewalk and no signage advertising the sale of alcohol. Mayor Brown asked attorney Smith to add a stipulation of the percentage of food sales required for on-premise consumption licenses. Mr. Smith said he would review the ordinances of other communities in Hamilton County and have the stipulation ready for the second and final reading in December.
