GBI is in town. Now let's hope more accountability is held than the deal about the re-call. Looks as if Mr. Cannon is in wayyy deep from all I am hearing. I will not repeat what I am hearing at this time but will wait on the offical word.

As of this morning as reported by "Tha Fluffer", Mr. Cannon has been released on a 2,500.00 bond. I understand that in "Big Cities" you call in the GBI to investigate an elected official as not to look prejudice, but in this case with an elected offical in Trenton a simple arrest on charges would be in order. There is more in this case that will be spoken because of the "Rug Sweep" of small town politics. If not for the Chatt. media and some seroius concerns by others, this case would done be over. In my experience with GBI, they have a large work-load and not much time to spend on any case, other than a Large, High Profile cases.
As I watched the man interviewed on channel 9 yesterday make the comment that everone "messes up" from time to time, I have to wonder why here in Dade County and I'm sure in others.... Why does it have to be those in "Leadership Roles"??????????? I have said many times.... Is this the BEST we have in Dade County... Must be!
At least in them thar big cities, they have big money or lots of sex to hide from... Here is Dade County it's just plain "Being Stupid"!

City Commissioner Jailed8-15-2011
Trenton City Commissioner Chuck Cannon has been arrested over the weekend by Trenton City Police. He is currently still in the Dade County Jail. Trenton City authorities have been investigating the incident over the weekend. The charges at this time are Simple Battery, but according to Dade County Jail there is an administrative hold placed on Cannon by the Trenton City Police department. More charges may be pending as the investigation continues. Cannon is the city commissioner over Parks and Recreation in Trenton.
Wonder who will ask the question! Why was the HOLD dropped??????????? HHHMMMM seems the "Good Ole Boy" system is hard at work!

I know folks must wonder why I use the term "Tha Fluffer" when speaking of our so called media outlet better known as the "Station with the Information" and his on-line self proclaimed newpaper Mnt. Valley Indpendent. But here is just another example of why we need more professional coverage and deserve better. Reading the article in this mornings edition on the event that the City Commissioner was invloved in, it was written that "RUMORS" continue to float through the city. Now we all know that Mr. Stone is scared of actually getting involved in a story and asking any questions. But this choice of a word "RUMOR" is saying that the GBI is spending it's time on a "RUMOR"... I have to wonder where Mr. Stone got his info that the charges are "RUMORS"? He didn't give his source for his so-called opinion. Some folks may and have had a hard time with this "Blog Site" which is nothing more than our OPINIONS but when you have a business for which you charge, you need a little more accountability than to just tell the victim and their family that they are just "RUMORS"!

But if Mr. Stone wants his OPINION known then he needs to replace his claim on being a media source to being another "Blog Site" or Gossip section, and folks need to understand that Mr. Stone has nothing more than what we have here... Amen, Brother ! Preach on ! Mr "Fluffer" is consistently on the wrong side of defending the "accused"... I don't know a lot about Mr Cannon, however, I know MUCH about Mr "Fluffer" and his cronies (as in his spiritual advisor) ! The "fluffer" is only interested in the "truth" according to his preference(s)... When the actual facts of any given circumstance aren't convenient for the "fluffer", he just minimizes the facts (or helps to kill the messenger)... Trust me, I know from personal experience; and yes, as I have consistently said for (almost) a decade, I can PROVE it !
If not for THIS site, Dade County would have no access to THE (consistent) TRUTH !

But you have to understand that most folks don't want to know THE TRUTH! They would rather hide behind it and be part of the problem. Small Cities and Counties cause us to either be kin or have "Growed Up" with someone who wants to hide the TRUTH and it's only normal for their friends and family to help cover up. This case will just be like alot I have seen in the past decade from those strive for the spotlite only to try to hide from it. I'm sad to say that I doubt that anything else will come from this case even it is only "Rumors"... When you hear that word used in small towns you have to know that it's just part of the "cover-up" because if charges are made then they are either "True" or the one chargeing is "Lieing to the Police". There is NO SUCH thing as a "RUMOR" from the accuser! Justice is really hardly ever served in a "They Said" case.
I just happen to take the word "RUMOR" as the wrong word for a Media source to use when it comes to making charges against someone. We try to pride ourselves on Facts but want to use the word "Rumor" in helping things look better than they really are... Yea kinda like you said there NFAH..... "Kill the Messenger and the Message"
One way to look at it is.....
My kids are perfect... My friends are always right... And my Preacher is NEVER WRONG! Anything else is just a "RUMOR" being spread by a "Troublemaker"!

Chuck Cannon, 36, was arrested Sunday evening at a friend’s home after the friend’s wife called police, a Trenton police report shows.
The two men, who were lifelong friends, had gotten into an argument that turned into a fight at the Church Street home, Cannon has previously said.
Cannon was taken to the Dade County Jail and released Monday afternoon on a $2,500 bond.
But before Cannon was released from jail, his wife, Ericka, filed the petition against her husband at 1:20 p.m., claiming he had hit her during a fight Friday night.
Cannon didn’t deny hitting his wife, but said “it didn’t happen like that.” He declined to explain further.
But he added, “This isn’t the worst fight we’ve been in this month.”
When asked if the fight with his wife was related to the arrest on Sunday, Cannon paused before saying, “no.”
The petition for a protection order filed in Dade County Superior Court states that, when Chuck Cannon came home late Friday night, his wife asked where he was.
When the couple got into an argument, he threw his laptop on the feet of his wife, who was on the bed, and she kicked it to the floor, the document states. The petition then says Cannon jumped on his wife, hitting her with his elbow before chasing her and her daughter out of the house.
The petition also claims Cannon has in the past choked his wife, pulled her hair and tried to smother her with his hand.
Cannon hasn’t been charged in connection with the fight with his wife, police say.
Ericka Cannon’s listed home phone number was not in service, and she couldn’t be reached for comment.
But Chuck Cannon argued that his wife didn’t file any charges with police Friday night and only after he was arrested did she file the protection order.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Dan Simms said he hasn’t been asked to investigate the protection order, only the simple assault charge. Simms didn’t say when that investigation would be complete.
Trenton Mayor Barton Harris said the commission doesn’t plan to take any action until the GBI investigation is finished.
Cannon said he has no plans to resign from his position at this time and hopes to have the protection order resolved by this weekend.

Wow !!! ...and in his OWN words ! Maybe he needs to retain an attorney before making public statements...surely he knows one. Does he realize that the press outside of Dade County might actually report statements he makes like this ?
