I am hearing all kinds of rumors. Mr Rich is gone from Davis I hear after not getting the supers job.
Another I have heard is that after parapros being laid off a lot of the community, teachers, and staff are livid over this:

I am also hearing a meeting with teachers was held with Corbin and he asked teachers to rank what they thought was important on student task and learning from most important to least important. Some took the attitude of how dare he ask me this. I also here some gained some respect from some who care over this. Apparently there hasn't been much supervision or direction out of the supers office in the past. Looks like it is going to be an interesting few years ahead. it seems like we need the school board to worry about the budget and let's let Corbin get the teaching and learning back in line.

Well when they accepted the "Race for the Top Money" much accountabilty will be held. Guidelines and Goals were set so if they can't meet them then it's just to bad. We will just have to wait to see if this guy who "Ain't From Around Here" will fall in line with the system or get sent packin in a hurry!

How soon do we forget that we are from an education system that put a man on the moon with out for the most part computers? We fed ourselves and a lot of the world and at one time out produced most of the world. And to think we did it without Federal dollars a without “Gimmick “programs like “No Child Left Behind” Or “Race to the Top”. We did it with Systems that were controlled by Elected Superintends and Elected School Boards. We were taught Math, English, History and Vocational Education. Sports were an “Extra Curricular” Activity and Socialization and giving Standardized Tests was not the top worry of the teachers. Schools were for education not a place to go to “Feel Good” about “You”. Schools also did it without all the Parent Drugged kids (I think the drugs parents give their kids is more for them than the child) and discipline was quick, swift and sure. If you got out of line...You got your Butt Busted… After getting your butt busted a couple of times you figured out how to behave and what not to do. But then again I guess I am just an old foggy and not in the “Real” world any more. To think from an Education System that could put a man on the Moon to what we have now …Well you get the Idea…Have we got our money’s worth?????
