It seems that our County Chairman is going to call out officials if they give him the same old line of we are working on it. i say good for him. It is time some get some accountability. You may ask what is all the fuss about. All I can say is that we have a pretty good history here in Dade of calling out the problem but not saying who's fault it is. Just read some of the letters on the insurance agencies in the paper lately. We are sometimes labeled as troublemakers pointing out the law or things that the media decides not to ask because those questions would be uncomfortable with their relationship. It is either they don't want to get kicked out of the in crowd or they are to lazy to ask the questions that matter. It is pretty sad that the Chattanooga media can come in here and get the nitty gritty details but locally this isn't done unless there is an ax to grind. Back to the story.
Dade was hit by the same tornado that Alabama got hit with. Alabama got a type of federal aid that cuts through the red tape and also provides for a 90% FEMA reimbursement for storm clean up. Dade is only getting 75%. Rumley said he is going to hold a press conference to call out the officials to the good or the bad if nothing gets done. I love this quote.
Quote:
Whichever way the decision goes, said Rumley, he intends to call a press conference with regional media including television stations, and he wants attendance by the elected federal officials, not their assistants. “They’re always here during election time,” he said. “If it’s good, then let them reap the praise. But I want it coming straight from the horse’s mouth if it’s not good news.”
So we shall see. I praise the efforts of Rumley for seeing the light. We have been saying for a long time that we have heard for years that ..so and so does a lot for Dade County but when you ask the question What has he done? you are labeled as a trouble maker. Thank You Ted for calling out or elected officials.

Ted Rumley on Friday said he had spoken to State Sen. Jeff Mullis about the problem, and on Monday the senator’s office reported he was on it. Mullis was to have met Tuesday with the GDOT commissioner, his secretary said.
Until then, how are citizens to proceed? The Sentinel asked Rumley, who could only answer: “They need to wait until the State decides what to do.”
Is this one funny or what?????????? At least the snow melted.. But the debris will stay till someone cleans it up. Remember it took two months for them to clean up the small amount in Rising Fawn? Wonder how long it will take now that the Great Mullis is "On It"?????????? lol...lol....
