SRT SAFETY DESTROYED IN FIRE 8-16-10
Trenton, New Salem, and South Dade Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire at SRT Safety in Rising Fawn around 5:00 Sunday morning. The company, which offered safety training services as well as first aid supplies and a response team for hazardous environmental waste spill, was located next to Rising Fawn Hardware. Though the hardware store was not affected by the fire, the SRT Safety building is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
This is the business of the "Fire Chief" of South Dade and is located one block north of the Fire Dept and is considered a TOTAL LOSS!!!!!!! Wonder if the ladder truck would have helped?????

I was also reminded that this "Chief" was the one who raised the most hay about the Fire Hydrants. Wonder if that played into the "Total Loss"?????????

I came through about 6:45 AM on Sunday and US 11 was blocked with hoses from a nearby hydrant to yes, they did have water. It is ironic that the fire chief's building was the one destroyed. This points out the fact that if you live in the country you'd better have good fire insurance no matter how close to the fire house you are.

Let me say that the business was in an OLE HOUSE that was all OLE WOOD and it wouldn't matter how quick "They" got there in this case, I'm sure that early in the morning. I guess the word "IRONIC" is a better term and by no means was it real funny that it was a total loss. I always try to find humor in everthing, and here in Dade County... It ain't hard!!!!!!!!!!!! lol..lol...
