One has to wonder if it is time in Dade County to shorten the school week to 4 days instead of five. Several Georgia Counties have already gone to 4 days in an effort to save Tax money. I know we will hear a lot of screaming and crying about what we will do with our kids with the extra day off. I have created a lot of comment about Government Schools being a free Child Care Unit so here will be the truth about if it or if it’s not. Due to the Economic condition of Dade Count it would be logical for us to adopt a 4 day week for our Government Schools. It is NOT the responsibility of the Taxpayers of this county to provide child care for the masses. I do feel that we need to educate our young people and not babysit them. That is why I chose to pay for my Childs from the 6th Grade on through HS. We need to look long and hard at cutting as much of the Government Education Budget as we can so as not to burden the Taxpayers with needless babysitting so parents want have to take care of their children that “Extra” day off. It’s all about education if “It’s Fer the Kids” not about having somewhere to warehouse them so parents can do whatever.
As I have said time and time again “If you can’t care for educate and provide for your children…DON”T have them”. Hard hearted you say…I say responsible …

Can we pay the coaches overtime if they hold practice on the day off? Isn't all about the coaches I mean athletes?

Good One... It would be funny, if not the truth!
