Was this weeks Early edition of "Tha Fluffer" funny or what? Between another Big Bust (and not on a woman either), Firetrucks watering the flowers, and yes it's official, Ted had givin a raise.... Is this a GREAT County or what? Oh and I love the letters to the Editor written in support for Mullis (by one person and then getting someone from ALA. to put their name on it).. I just wonder if the fine folks that surround themselves with one brain cell have a clue of how funny they really are... It's kinda sad that I can't just look away but it's just too funny. If you haven't read this weeks, take the time to glance over it because you will find it as funny as I have....lol...lol...lol...

I had already gotton WORD that the Sentinel was "Doing a Story" about the Raise (or whatever Ted calls it) and found it funny that the Independent has a Story last night. I had to even call some folks and tell them about the Scoop that Mr. Fluffer had pulled. How funny is this county?????????

“I didn’t realize how important human resources was,” he said. “We could have had our rear end sued slap off.”

Or how about stating it like we could have had our A@@ handed to us on this issue. I'm for one glad he's got such a way with words... Kinda reminds me of our Mayor in the City. The are two "pea's in a pod"....lol...lol...

From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

"Shall" - used to express a command or exhortation <you shall go> b —used in laws, regulations, or directives to express what is mandatory

"May" - : have the ability to b : have permission to <you may go now> : —used nearly interchangeably with can c —used to indicate possibility or probability <you may be right> <things you may need> ; sometimes used interchangeably with can <one of those slipups that may happen from time to time — Jessica Mitford> ; sometimes used where might would be expected <you may think from a little distance that the country was solid woods — Robert Frost>

I think the commission needs to re-read the personnel manual and see if it says that employees "may" get an increase upon completion of a degree or they "shall" get an increase upon completion of the degree. My money is on "may".

Also need to look up the term "sovereign immunity" as it relates to county governments being sued.

Giving any raise right now, claiming how bad of shape the county is in.... It should read..... "MUST" or "Have To" or sumthin!
