If we dont count the board of education hike that might happen. And I am only looking at County budgets here. It looks as if all of the counties in the 53rd district are planning on raising taxes. I am known for calling out our commisioners, but say it what you want, I thank them for not raising taxes. I guess the other counties were thinking "As Chattanooga goes so does the 53rd." What does this say about the State the Senate District is in now? All across the state counties are having to suck it up and not raise taxes. I know a lot of the other commisioners and I can tell you this is the last thing any of them would want to do. Something needs to change. While Ft Payne is booming, they even landed a tier one supplier for VW the rest of us are dying. Catoosa County Tax Hike:http://bit.ly/bVykeN
Quote:
The proposed budget presented to the Catoosa County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, July 6, shows property taxes going up around $9 for every $100,000 of property value, if the budget is accepted later this month......
......To make up that loss in revenue, Mr. Winters said he will boost the county’s millage rate two mills “just to get to break-even” and possibly another mill to give the county a financial cushion for the upcoming year.
Each mill brings the county about $483,000, Mr. Winters said......
“Residents should understand that any discussion of a property tax increase comes out of a growing necessity and not by choice,” Heiskell said. “I understand fully the difficulty that many residents are having trying to make ends meet these days.”
The proposed increase would amount to a half-mil increase on property owners, which translates to about 50 cents on every $1,000 of assessed value on property.

Maybe we could cut Maglev Mullis away from the Goverment feed trough. I know he is not doing any thing to earn his payday. I guess he is more intrested in "Pork" than finding and keeping Jobs in the 53# District. And the last time I saw him the "Pork" was showing... must be all those free meals and Drinks the lobbiest force down him so he will "Vote" the right way...

Let's see, my take home pay is down and my expenses have not changed. I know what I'll do; I'll tell my employer that they have to pay me more and there is no other way around it. It comes out of a growing necessity and is not the choice i would like to make.
I'm sure that this will go over well since our county guvmints think that is the way to act.

Looks like "Maglev" Mullis after doing such a fine job mowing the Interstates and Clearing Snow from the State Roads... appears to be ready to move on to his next quest. That "Quest" is raising Taxes on every person in the State by (seemingly at this time) Placing State sales tax back on food. Well ,it want bother him though, since he does not have to buy food because he eats at the lobbist and public trough.
I am sure his feeling is that people who do not have jobs(He took credit for saving even though the plants closed down) will have a lot of extra money to pay taxes on the food they eat.

Georgia "needs" the money so they will put back the tax on Food! I really hope this doesn't happen but I will want the people to see the results for themselves.
