I am a Japanese/English translator (I translate the words 'literally' then a story editor takes it and then makes it make sense for the English speaking audience), I have worked for Dark Horse, Tokyo Pop, Geneon and Viz Media. I worked in donjinshi when I lived in Japan in the late '80s. I haven't been working much everything that I am coming across is yoai or bishonen, the big guys have there 'regulars' now and there isn't much over flow of 'good work' like there used to be. I used to translate Young King Ours, including HELLSING back in the early days that is how I got on with DH when they took over the American publication of it, but my favorite has to be Blade of the Immortal which has lost favor with DH (they are still doing compilations very slowly) and I have been working with some guys online doing scantilations for those really devoted fans..... but Samura Hiroaki says he will end it in 2010 after 13+ years.

You done what to who?

Oh and I meant to say, speaking of art... How many of you got to see the Moose drop his (well you know)? Someone had went by and added to the Orange Moose in Trenton and the Animal Control Officer went by and clipped them off. I really thought it "added" to the effect of "The Moose" but some found it a bit to revealing......lol...lol...lol...

He never really wore the shirt around the airports though. It was just a line he had from one of his wrestling promotions. He has hundreds that I've found amazing from that quote, to him calling Twilight media trash and a positive saying of "Just say no." So yeah? :?:

That sounds like one heck of a career/hobby, really. I don't like much of today's works like Naruto and such and it just kinda makes me sick, really.

I love GOOD vampire stories, Twilight is twaddle. Blah.... My 8 yo likes Naruto, but not one of my favorites -- we all read Shonnen Jump around here so. My preference is for GOOD art and a GOOD story, that is why I like Young King OURS, similar format but for adults. The art work is more anatomically correct but also more graphic and with adult story lines. When I say 'adult' I mean it goes deeper, not just a surface story but a back story with lots of side stories that dovetail into the whole. Not the simple 'heart on your sleeve' garbage you find in most serial manga. I am currently bidding on the new title from the brain of HELLSING creator (his art is incredible especially his color renderings and his stories are really complex), Drifters it is an alternate history/fantasy type story about the time of Miyamoto Musashi in Edo (now Tokyo).

Defiantly not Naruto...

I'm a great fan of Dragon Ball and Deathnote, but that is because I grew up with the other and the story of DeathNote captured me greatly. I like the sense of humor in One Piece with some of the fights. Wish the story could be better at times, though.

Well I am a BIG L fan and Light is brilliant. Their game is captivating. I like One Piece too, I actually had a bid with 4Kids to do some of the anime, but had to turn down the contract when Peter first got sick. I am glad I did, 4Kids really, really botched it. They tried to chop-up a 14+ level series into a Saturday morning 'cartoon' and well it was really sad..... The OVA Romance Dawn is pretty good, but OVAs usually have more money backing and can get away with more than their 'made for tv' counterparts.
