I heard a few weeks ago someone talking about talking with the One Georgia folks about making us eliglble. Well folks they can't do much for Dade County. If Martin's bill passes he can. If you read the text of the bill you will see and keep this a secret that Dade is the only one it applys to. I hope this goes somewhere. I don't have much hope as there is only one pot of money and we are pretty much the only county that can't qualify for it geographically under the OneGeorgia Authority Act. What you can do is call and or email members of the House Committee on Intragovernmental Coordination and ask them to get it out of committee. And guess what one of the other sponsers is on the committee the chairman. Martin is the secratary. Keep your fingers crossed.
The committee info is here;

Look some people up and call.

Looks like this bill is dead this year as it didn't make it past crossover day.

This is the only way that Dade will ever be able to get State funds (that we pay). Maybe next year. Be sure to tell Scott to keep working for us here in Dade County.
