Before anyone accuses me of being some economic development Luddite let me point out why I voted no on giving money to the IDA. At the time they owned (maybe they still do) an 80+ acre cow pasture in a flood zone that they hadn't developed or seriously tried to sell. I wanted them to use resources they already had before giving them more tax money. The people who originally voted to have the IDA buy that cow pasture should be forced to personally reimburse the county. Maybe we could leak a rumor to the commission that some federal agency is going to need land and someones relatives will suddenly show up to buy it.....

The Walmart in Tifftonia gets about $1200 a month from us, the Ingles in town gets about $200 & Greenlife about $100. Before Tifftonia was built it was the Walmart in Fort O.

I totaly agree with you on this one. I really thought though that the direction of the IDA might have improved and be moving toward getting Dade County headed in the right direction. Silly Me..... "I had a Dream!" Wait that line was taken... "How about How stupid I was". If it were me I would Donate it to the relative and just let them sell it. After all they seem to be better at controlling what property is bought and sold in this county..
