The only thing I know about him is "He ain't from around here" but seems to be very professional and well versed in his job. I've got to hear him a couple of times on "Tha Fluffer" and he really speaks very well. That doesn't mean that he's gonna make a great superintendent but it sure is a refreshing change. JMO

Can't wait to hear how all the changes go over at the School Board meeting. And to think that he wants to have a "Work Session" to have input from the board??? HHHHMMMM where have we heard that before... Oh I know, I've had an issue with vote yes with the Superintendent for years........... And hold some accountability with other folks and groups in the school system???????? Oh that will never do!!!!!!!!!! lol...lol...lol....

We applaud the new superintendent on his push to hold a little accountability. Mr. Tobin's push to require organizations that hold themselves out as booster club's and other organizations to have a little financial accountability is long over due. As he has said this is not because something is going on but to prevent something from happening. We read to often in the papers of public employees and elected officials getting caught from stealing money. This happens in places that already have these types of checks and balances in place. Sometimes they are only caught by the required audits. Nothing could be worse than the money that is raised for our kids does not get to the kids. Can't we remember this case from two years ago. http://www.wrcbtv.com/global/story.asp?s=9795600 .This is when a band booster stole money. Or how about the cheerleading coach who didn't turn in all the money from fundraisers.? http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/15326608/au ... kept-money . It even happens to football booster clubs. http://www.wsmv.com/story/15075408/audi ... sing-money . I would say when this happens people are shocked that it would ever happen to their club. We thank Mr. Tobin for his continued push to hold accountability and look forward to a push for greater transparency in school board governance. We also look forward to an easier school district web presence that makes it easier to look up proposed and passed policies, budgets, and expenditures. We are also shocked that organizations would be against this type of accountability.

Yes, please count me on the the "WE" part of David's last post. I did find it funny that two board memebers has a problem with the policy's. But I guess it's just another case of "We have been doing it this way for years"......

Very nice post with the facts to back it up there David!

And what was the word????? oh yea, accountability!!!!!!!!!! HHHHMMMMM

Just wanted to take a comment from the report in "Tha Fluffer" for a moment. Seems business owner, quaterback club member, School Board member- Jeff Forrestor asked the question "Why Not Leave It Alone Till We Need It"... I am really suprised that any business owner wouldn't hold his Company to policies. Maybe some think that we shouldn't set policy for volunteers? Still trying to figure this one out..

Two things come to mind on policy
(1) Is that we have long agreed that they should discuss the issues with the Board Members and let them have a Say-So! Holds the Board accoutable with not just voting but why.
(2) Everone now should know my "Ready, Fire, Aim Approach that this County seems to take on ever issue. Glad to see the discussion taking place before a vote is taken. At least the Partents, Taxpayers can (if they would) get in contact and let their thoughts be known.. Sad thing is that most contact will only come from those who are affected by it personally (those who will be held accountable)..............

While some might disagree on any policy changes at least it is now being discussed. But as we here at Dade Info know... You don't mess with our SPORTS!!!!!!!!!!
