Professional opinion: The Banner look's well excuse my term CRAPPY, sorry it doesn't even qualify as 'amateurish'. This is a government website and should convey a certain level of professionalism, animated blinky banners DON'T do that. Not to mention you can SEE the pixels in the font and white edging around it. The purple font color doesnt work with the dark putty colored background. The font and text to me on the 'history' page is small and difficult to read -- and I have a rather large monitor. When you go to the 'facts' page the links fonts on the left side actually change -- for the better IMHO. And what about Valley Head? Or are we considered part of Rising Fawn or just the extreme 'back 40'? I think some of the photos could have been better, many are off centered. I could go on but I dont have the time, TEHE!!!
Ok, this may seem kind of like 'nit picking' BUT again this should be a professional website and IMHO it lacks.

I'm sorry guys. This website was honestly made by one high school student to be honest. There was three of us, I being one, working on it. Sadly I couldn't stand the one kid though because he was unprofessional. I dropped out of the entire project after writing all the information. I had a detailed plan layout, but of course he was only on standards of Web Design 1, even though he was in a Web Design 2 class.
I might one day work on a new layout on my own terms and give it to good ol' Tom R. I'll take suggestions if you like on what you think it should be looking like. I have enough free time to please some people.
I plan to take a majority of what scbcorgi says cause it seems like the nit-picking worked to get me wanting to fix this. Valley Head, you say? And the banner made me cry when I saw it. My Pokemon sale shop which wasn't even published looked 50 times better then this, yet she allowed him to carry on. Wish she would of dropped him, but she had to much of a heart to hurt his feelings I guess?

Well, now I understand -- and in honesty I don't think it is bad for a couple of high schoolers. My BEEF is that this is a county government and should have a more professional appearance. Not to mention I thought that it was actually supposed to be in the 'budget' and funded with tax dollars. I am all for getting young people involved but I think there needs to be more 'professional' guidance before the 'finished product' is released.
One more thing, as some who must submit to a copy editor on a regular basis -- get used to nit-picking if you have any intent on going into a 'type' field don't take it personally, when you are working for some one else they are always right. You can always glean something from criticism, constrictive or otherwise even if it is only to know who NOT to pay much attention too.......

Valley Head is up here on Lookout Mtn over looking Rising Fawn. We actually get our mail out of Menlo, GA but are considered in 'Clouldand' though we are not really in 'Cloudland'. Make sense -- doesn't to me. I think it is just about the queerest location I have ever heard of; my 'neighbors' in front of me and beside me are in Dade as am I but the lot behind me are Walker.

First of all, it has more to do with the County and it's lack than anything else. We have went for years without a website and the ole saying of "You can only work with what you are given" applies here. Not sure when ya'll put the website on-line because I never seen anything about it, till David ran across it.
The other thing is that you never need to say you're sorry for at least trying. I respect the fact that you did though. I have always TRIED to get Young People involved in anything going on here in Dade County and am proud that at least it is an attempt to do that.
I'm not much as professional as anyone here, but in all honesty they is NO WAY that this website can be considered for the "County Website". But as I have said there above, that you only can work with what you are given and it showed....lol...lol...lol..lol... Besides you don't need people telling you a lie about life at your age... It's gonna be hard enough soon...

As far a a story about where you leave... I can TOP THAT! Turn right out of the driveway, go around the curve and drive about 2 tenth's a mile and you will have driven through... TWO States, Three Counties, and TWO timezones! When there is a wreck in that area, it's a madhouse to figure out who has to do the paperwork....lol...lol...lol...

Yeah, tell me about it cell reception is nada unless you are right in front of my house in the middle of the road -- really, folks around here know it becuase there is almost always a car sitting out front. Used to drive me nuts. And when you do have reception, it hooks up to central time not eastern. I don't know how many times I have misjudged time becuase I look at the time on my cell! I used to take Peter out on rides, down Old State to 'the dirt road' (actually it is gravel road now) where it becomes Alabama and on to Mentone. I love Mentone, hasn't changed much since I was a child in the '70s. Beautiful scenery down that way.
