This is the proposed exit at Hicks Hollow. GDOT wanted the county to pay $100,000 for a study to see if we needed another one. They had already decided we didn't but wanted us to pay $100K to verify that we didn't. Needless to say.....
This is just another way to whizz away money. If you take money from your left pocket and put it into your right pocket do you have any more money than when you started? NO, but you'll never convince a lot of the voters of that as long as they're wanting YOU to help pay for something that THEY want. The E-SPLOST is a perfect example. The new super has already started pitching for renewal of that financial black hole.

Ga. DOT missed the boat when they didn't buy out Smokey (after their loss on Tornado) and work on the 136-Hwy 11 intersection to make 136 straight and tie Sunset into it with a bridge over the raidroad so that when the trains DO BLOCK the entrance to the Ind. Park the trucks could use that way instead of needing an escort.. But then again we have said many times our leadship isn't much on planning.

OK we get this “Wonderful” exit… now my question is this where will you be able to go to if you turn right coming from Chattanooga??? To make this exit a viable exit it should lead to something both ways this one will not because there is NOTHING to the North of this exit. But then again what do I know I am just a dumb ole’ country boy…

To be honest, I really don't know what the purpose is of this exit. Is it to re-leave school traffic? Or maybe keep the Tractor Trailers from coming around the "Square" to the Ind. Park? Maybe to let the future of Trenton and Dade County grow from this exit? Maybe an access road on the other side of the interstate? I've really not heard a logical reason other than spending money for something I really don't see. Really the only reason I can see is to keep the trucks from "Downtown". Guess it's gonna be another VW Exit.....lol..lol.. Build it and they will come....lol..lol...

Let me say that I do understand that the cost of "maintaining" our roads have went up alot in the past years. I might be "On-Board" with a GADOT contract to keep our roads and interstate paved and clean of grass and debris. But when you give the goverment FREE MONEY they feel the need to spend it on things that get them elected more than what the taxpayers need.... Until they prove themselves that they can give us what we need, I will not be giving them what they feel they need. A vote to raise money for them to BLOW!
