While listening to the Appropriations Economic Development Joint Committee meeting today I heard the following: Sen. Mullis asked for one department to look at other states to increase fees so we are like them. We no were that goes. This year we raise them next year TN & AL raises them and it is an endless cycle. He also said not to call it fee increases but fee modernization. Whats that ole saying a pig is a pig no matter what you call it. Later the group responsible for bringing in the movie industry came in. Guess what he asked? After he heard that Florida is thinking of offering more incintives, he asked does GA need to give some more tax incentives? So every daygeorgians get a fee increase, I mean tax increase, I mean fee modernization, while hollywood gets a tax exemption. They didn't agree to a bigger exemption for the movie industry but just by asking that type of question would lend one to believe he would be for an increase in exemptions all in the name of economic development. Later in the meeting he said he wanted to make it clear that he was not related to any of the film crew from deliverance. I don't believe it because he is fixin' to make all of us squeal like a pig. I will post the archive of the meeting if it is made available.

Well after all the only movie I can think of that was filmed any in Dade County was "The night that the lights went out in Georgia" and we all know how fitting that is. Oh I heard (read) on another blog about how much a Mullis cheerleader likes to run into him at the Movie Theatre....
