Yes it is true folks. Mullis has filed a bill that adds a clause that restricts the sale of wine and malt beverages to 300 feet from church buildings. SB 124 can be read here: http://www.legis.ga.gov/Legislation/en- ... tion=32961 Of course this willl effect a lot of small towns not just Trenton. This is what I call a non republican bill. How can we claim that this bill is for less government intervention? Ths bill was filed to apease the taliban I mean talibaptist. Did you notice the bill has no co-sponsors ? Guess what that means? It is dead in the water. It was filed to pay a little lip service for those who don't know how things work under the dome. He would have done better to tack it on to the Sunday sales bill. After all Mullis co-sponsored that bill a few years ago. http://www.peachpundit.com/2009/01/27/s ... hol-sales/ Oh yea. I believe the way the bill is written now it would be interpreted the walking distance from the door of the church along the sidewalk to the business door not the property line. The courts have ruled the means of ordinary travel is how the distance is to be interpreted. So if this passed it would possibly nullify the city distance ordinance and make it less restrictive on those infidels restaurants in my opinion.

I had to laugh that he has "Struck" through the yards and put feet. Last time I went to School, 300 feet was pretty much 100 yards. Wonder what the thinking (lack of) was behind this. Maybe Dade can't figure out how to get the football feild picked up and moved to measure with? At least he has put it out there to be voted on, even though he is "Fer" less goverment.

What do you mean, it's DEAD? I mean come one. How fair is that? It's not just a good idea, it should be a LAW, just ask the folks who put so much time in it, getting the picture and all.
