I hate to say this but it looks like old King Roy has a better perspective of the last session than the current ads running on the radio on the local station with HQ in Dade. I guess ole Roy did not forget about some of the silliness or the fee increase or the hospital bed tax that Mullis wants us to. What else did we learn today? Ole King Roy has just about summed it up good in this video.
Then good ole Jeffy is going to cost us who knows how much in a copycat legislation of the AZ bill. Can you tell me where is illegal legislation a problem in the 53rd district? Maybe if we weren't so worried about other peoples business outside of the 53rd we might actually get something done that we want.

“The United States is a land of opportunity for all who want to come here and contribute to our society in a lawful manner. We welcome anyone who wants to become a legal resident of the United States to achieve the American dream. The fact remains that those who are reside illegally are breaking the law and utilizing resources that should be for those who obtain legal residency,” said Mullis. “Businesses, local governments and our university system must comply with federal and state illegal immigration laws to relieve wasteful spending and get legal residents and Georgians back to work.”
“Senator Mullis is one of Georgia’s leading voices on the issue of enforcing immigration law. We stand shoulder to shoulder in supporting enforcement not amnesty,” said Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock).
Facts on Illegal Immigrants in Georgia:
• Georgia had an estimated illegal immigration population of 490,000 in 2008. • The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that the annual fiscal burden on Georgia taxpayers from illegal immigration is more than $1.6 billion. • Georgians spend about $1.37 billion annually on educating the children of illegal immigrants. • Nearly one in ten K-12 public school students in Georgia is the child of an illegal alien, and this presence has been increasing as the illegal resident population increases. • State-funded uncompensated outlays for health care provided to Georgia’s illegal alien population amount to an estimated $210 million a year. • The cost of incarcerating deportable aliens in Georgia’s state and local prisons amounts to about $22.6 million a year.
Federal Statistics:
• The number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. roughly doubled, jumping from about 5 million in 1996 to about 11 million today. (A 2009 report from the Department of Homeland Security reflects that the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. stands at around 10.8 million.) • Federal estimates suggest that over 90 percent of the increase in the foreign-born population in Georgia since 2000 has resulted from illegal immigration.

I am more inclined to think this is more of a way to get free press. Seems like I remember somewhere he wanted to give free amnesty. So you cant have it two ways. I guess our memories are two short. Kevin West gives us a little insight at http://www.wgow.com/Article.asp?id=1865707&spid=19588

We did determine this morning that no matter what we do, none of us can run for political office. We're all divorced -- JR more often than the rest of us -- and that right there is probably enough to do us in. I'm still unmarried and don't attend any particular church on a regular basis, so that unquestionably nixes me from the picture. We all know how you create a political ad in East Tennessee. First, declare that you're a conservative outsider. Next, show a picture of your happy, well-dressed, conservative family. Third, insert the American flag as a backdrop. And finally, superimpose your face looking appropriately serious over shots of the Bible and your church.
Three Georgia Republican state Senators join GALEO’s Nan Orrock (D), La Raza and the ACLU and some of the Democrat minority on the Senate Public Safety committee in endorsing a repeat of the 1986 amnesty for illegal aliens - Vote “YES DO PASS” on Senate Resolution 570.....Yesterday, state Senators John Crosby (R- Tifton District 13), Johnny Grant (R- Milledgeville District 25) and Jeff Mullis (R- Chickamauga District 53) joined some of the Dems on the committee and voted “YES, Do Pass” on a Resolution introduced by Senator Nan Orrock ( Democrat Senator Freddie Powell Sims voted “NO” ) endorsing “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” .......
Several of Georgia's public colleges say fewer than five illegal immigrants took classes on their campuses last year. http://www.ajc.com/news/ga-colleges-say ... 61501.html You all just remember we aint fer it in Dade.

What an incredible hypocrite!!! In march he votes for an amnesty bill and in July he wants to sponsor legislation like the law that passed in Arizona. Amazing but not surprising.
Viva Senior Senator Maglev!
