I heard that a former elected official showed up at a FEMA work site where they were handling broken utility poles, flashed a government ID (the one every county commissioner gets at orientation) and claimed to be a State Representative. He said he wanted those poles and they gave him two trailer loads before someone who knew him called his bluff. I'm pretty sure there's a law against this if anyone wanted to pursue it. But they of course will not.
