As many of you know the question passed that asked if commissioners should live in the district but elected at large. I was opposed to this but it passed. So now I ask the question if everyone in the county votes for every county office why do we need to vote at precints?
One way to make cuts on the county budget would be to have one centralized polling place. This would cut down on the number of poll workers. We might even be able to cut down on the number of computers we need. Sure we might have to wait a little longer but wouldn't be worth the savings the county would have. Besides there is already 45 days of early voting and anyone bothered by waiting in line could just early vote. Those in running for office could all stand out around the 'ole courthouse and not have to worry about having 7 people at the different polls to hold signs or precint watch. Both parties could monitor the polls more closely. I don't know if there is some kind of law against this but it just makes since to me. If room is a question we could always use the new big courtroom.

I actually like this idea.
