To tell us why Both Commissioners are changing parties to run for re-election. Give it some thought and try to be nice but truly think about what it says about the people who are changing parties not as much that they are, but just ask them why and pay attention and you will figure out for yourself why it is happening.

I haven't even heard the news that anyone is changing parties but I'll hazard a guess. Lowery and Pittman are both running as Republicans, right? I'd say because they put getting reelected ahead of everything else and they think/hope people will ignore the fact that after a lifetime of supporting the party that produced Barack Obama they NOW decide they can't support socialism any more. Note that both waited to see if they'd have a primary challenger from the GOP before announcing this paradigm shift in their thinking. Wonder what would happen if any credible REAL Republican challenger announced they would oppose them from their districts?

Like that is gonna happen here in Dade County. I have to laugh at BOTH parties here in Dade County. Not that other counties don't have their own problems but here in Dade, it's like a running JOKE! Neither party wants to work to get anything done. They just meet to talk about how wonderful their world is and how they don't see any need for a change of any kind. They can't find anyone who is qualified to run for any position in either party and are to scared to even ask a question on the ballot. They just sit back and choose who can help them more in their agenda than who can really get something good done for Dade County. I could tell some real doozies on some in each party and who said (what about who) during the election and they have the guts to act like when they have the person on their show that they are the best thing since sliced bread. The games that are played during this time are to funny and I hope never to be involved in another election again. Last election is where I really learned that never to turn your back on anyone because you will be pulling a KNIFE out just because they have their own agenda to play out. It doesn't even have to be a disagreement about the person who is running but more to do with how they promote their (at the time) canidate.
I know of at least two posters on this site who have seen what I am talking about.
At least one will tell you that I didn't try to hide the fact when I disagreed and the other can say that I never left before, during or after the election. And while I use the blogsite to tell my story (since I don't have a show or a Church) I hope everone by now knows who I am because I'm not sneaking behind no ones back to tell the story....

Well looks like another 4 years of "I've been working on the Railroad"! For that District and a choice in my District of an ole neighbor and the Lamar. After all the talk about who was gonna run up thar on Sand Mountain I guess all is well with the "Leadership" of that District. And we all know how involved Mr. Smith (goes to Dade County) has been since his last run at an office down there in T-Town...lol..lol...
Yep, Mayberry lives on with Floyd the Barber and the rest of the gang...lol...lol... Wow, we have got it going here in Dade County.....lol...lol...

I heard Monda was a little disappointed that Scottie decided to run as a Republican. The Republican Party Chairman told me it was a shocker to him yesterday morning. Lamar has been talking about switching for a couple years now. Funny how when people don't agree with the org instead of staying and fighting they either switch or start a new one. I guess it is alright to be a member of a party that supports gays for years until one gets active in your own back yard. hmmm...

Now you've went and dun it! You've called out Mrs. Republican, the party of the Right and the party of the Wrong and even mentioned the thing I wondered if anyone had the guts to say..... But keep in mind on the back yard issue that this is why we don't want Liquor by the Drink (and are even to scared to ask the people). We will support it in other places just not in our back yard..... This is too good to be true... And people wonder why the "outer cricle" just sit back and laugh and don't want to get involved in such as this.....

People wonder why no one wants to go to the polls and vote. This years election should not even be on the Calander for anyone to go vote. I'm not saying NOT to Vote, but look at what we are voting for. Just got done reading the questions that will be on the ballot. Two of them have already been asked and settled. It's like we need to ask questions but are afraid to get anything done so let's not ask the tough questions like... Should we re-appoint the IDA with someone who will work? How about asking if we are tired of spending money on the NWGJD so that our Little Buddie can make more money. Let's ask the accoutability questions! Oh well, that's one reason I quit attending the meetings. The other is like has been said here. You have at least three people who are running for office who have never been to a party meeting (the one they chose to run under) (the other has attended the last few) and now use the "Popular Party" hoping that helps get them elected. That is out of the total amount of people who are running number of six. How sad is that. Is it because we think that two are doing such a GREAT JOB (running unapposed) or is it that we really don't care and just sit back and take what they dish out because as I have HEARD many times... It ain't gonna ever change down there, no matter how hard you try....

I have always considered myself a Republican, but after attending a couple of the Republican party meetings a few years ago - no offense intended guys there was just a lot of drama at the time and my attendance at the meeting was even questioned and I thought they might throw me out even though the other paper had someone there that wasn't even questioned...hmmmmm - I remain a Republican but refuse to participate in the local party. It is sad because the county in Kansas that I moved from had a very active Republican women's group that included several of the women in office at the time (Clerk, treasurer, etc) and I enjoyed the few meetings I attended before moving down here. It really is a turnoff to see so much in-fighting within a local party and to feel that only certain people will ever have a say, especially when I was used to party meetings where everyone was welcomed with open arms and people were asked to run based on their qualifications and not just on having a warm body to run for the position.

Well one thing for sure is that you aren't in Kansas anymore... (just had to say that)... There was about 10 years of "DRAMA" that was taking place in the Republican Party in those two tor three years that I attended. But you had to be there from start to finish to understand. Most of the time we each thought we might get thrown out for speaking our mind at some time. But then again the main problem with the party was much like Dade County as a WHOLE... LEADERSHIP! Some wanted to run it and others ran it and the others just wanted to all get along and yet like everthing in Dade County... Nothing was getting done.... But don't forget that you have said that you have been treated that way with alot of the groups here in Dade County. Especially when you start to ask questions...lol... And I have said at the time there were two sides to the local newspapers (even though you wasn't really a part of it).
As usual, MOST people in the Party are there for all the WRONG REASONS! I always said that the function of the party was to FIND the Qualifided People to run for office, support them and work for a better Dade County. I will admit that I got caught up in the this person is better than this person.... But after the last election and the way it was handled, I msyself seen that there was nothing for me in the Local Party.
I do think that a Person running for office should at least attened a few meeting (for the office that they are running) and the Party for which they are Running under but Hey, that's just me....
