Never thought it would ever happen. But it still isn't the Deal that we really needed but at least it's a start.
IDA CLOSES ON PURCHASE OF SHAW PROPERTY 11-23-10
After several months of discussion and waiting after having signed a letter of intent earlier in the year, the Dade County Industrial Development Authority announced Monday that they had closed on the purchase of the Shaw property on November 1st. The property, located on Highway 11 North, was purchased for $357,805.00, and spans 30.47 acres on the east side of the railroad. It does not include the Shaw building and the land west of the Norfolk Southern railway.
At a previous meeting, the IDA had asked the Shober Group, a land surveying company, to survey the remaining land which the Authority owns in the current Industrial Park. It was originally thought that there were 3.8 acres remaining, but the new survey showed that there are instead 5 acres of vacant land.
Just needed to change several months to several years to make it a FACT!

Looks like they spent a lot less than they got in the SPLOST... I guess the taxpayers of Dade County will be seeing a Tax refund in that they used less than they thought they needed....

Got a lot less land than the amount they were working to get. They are looking for perfect land that has no rock in it....lol...lol..lol... Wonder if they are gonna build a SPEC BUILDING?
