It did not take as long as I thought for local officials to admit that the Carrot stick FEMA brought in to the County to go south. It appears that the carrot was a big stick in disguise. Once the Feds moved in, with a lot of fanfare, the county lost control of the situation and became a side show to the main event. When will we learn the even when things were as bad as they were after the tornados the best people to take care of the problem are people from the local area? Every time FEMA moves in the “Wheel” has to be re-invented and it has to be re-invented the way they want it. When it is all over and done with the people who will pay is Dade County Taxpayers because FEMA will cost us more than it would have to do the same amount of work locally. Looks like the County Chairman see’s this and is speaking out about it, I guess once the horses are out of the barn it’s too late to close the barn door. Maybe the County Officials can round up some of the horses and cut some of the losses.
