With election season coming around it appears a new car has appeared for public transportation. This car once served as a patrol car. I would say it probably gets better gas mileage than the vans, other than the fact that the vans get reimbursed through grants. So here is the question. How did this happen? I don't remember anyone talking about on this at a commission meeting or reading about it. Did the Sheriff just donate the car to them? If he did how does this happen? You see this is county property and would require commission approval for this to happen. A transfer of this would probably be against the county's financial policy. Anyone know any more info on this? A car for the seniors would probably buy a lot of votes next time around.

David, I guess some folks would wonder why this is such a concern. Most don't know the headach you and the other commissioners have had with trying to provide our Seniors with the help they need with all the funding issues ya'll had and now that revenue is even lower than your term, how can things like this happen without any details is beyond me. Well in simple terms it is part of the GOB (Good Ole Boys) that has now returned since you left office. It part of the "we all get along" system of goverment that works well for this county and for that matter the whole state. Funny how thing are different in Washington and who is to say which is the best way. As for me, I like the open goverment that at least let's the taxpayer know what is being done with their money. Some folks don't care because they accept that this is the system and I myself along with you should have found out that it ain't never gonna change (at least in our lifetime). It's people that "feed" off that fact that sickens me.....

Well finally this morning we found out as the WHY this car was put into service. Seems once again the Big Goverment screws us little Counties when it comes to re-placing the van that was lost during the tornados. The county insurance has paid for the van lost but state will not issue a replacement until later (this year)? Might even been next.. Not sure I understood when.. Anyhow we are gonna ask Mr. Mullis for his help... With that said... It's more like next year I would say....

I would like to tell both Mr. Rumley and "Tha Fluffer" that some of us really apperciate hearing the news of the county. Just seems strange that it took this long to tell it.... Now see that wasn't to hard to do was it??????? It's called open goverment.....

Now let's hope this don't become a campaign speech on who done what for the county.
