Did anyone read the Sentinel about the Assor's Office wanting to go to four, ten hour days since they got a taste of being off three days a week? Interesting.
I certainly hope this is not going to happen. Most government offices are opened five days a week. We already have the Elections office paying for an additional employee to work on Fridays cause the salaried employee wants to work a four day week.
I tell you what, with all the unemployeed people around, let's start a trend. Anyone not wanting to work the five days a week, resign your position and let someone work that wants to work.
Or better yet, how about cut the budget by those employees.

Some people can work 4 tens and do just fine (my husband does but he is a 'puter programmer, he is 'on call' 24/7 though) but in a public office that is responsible to persons of the county/city they NEED to be available to their public. After all WHO is paying there salaries?

The funny thing is that when the commissioners try to "Sell" us on the fact that it is creating a "Hardship" on the county employees such as the Chamber funding quote from the commissioners ("it's hard to fund the Chamber when we have employees to cut their hours"). "Ted Said" that the county saved all this money by cutting employees hours back 4 hours a week and now we have Depts. who want to cut back...
