I would just like to dispell the notion made last night by the nut on t.v. I knew one of them was to go to Westminster and wondered if they still went so I turned over to check it out. Well, the one that stayed here made a comment they have no clue about. The person said "Show dogs live a horrible, horrible life." Below is the horrible life that show dogs live.

By the way, the picture was not staged. I was so upset I looked into the den to tell my hubby what was said and there sat the Champion show dog. Just had to take the picture.

Yeah, those fruit cakes don't have a clue what it takes to make a top show dog. First and foremost the MUST be HAPPY -- an unhappy dog who doesn't love being in the ring is not going to get the judges eye NO matter how much closer to standard the dog is. That is not even counting conditioning and nutrition -- you cant get a coat on a dog who is not content with his 'home' and coat in most breeds is 1/2 the dog. These kind of morons obviously confuse dog show enthusiasts and reputable breeders with the back yard sorts that have row after row of kennel runs full of this breed or that.......

I don't show anymore but these people still rake me and get on my ol'soap box.....

Totally agree!! sbcorgi. People just don't have a clue. The one that made the statement actually lets dogs she feed run the neighborhood. Wow, couldn't imagine mine doing that. They are so pampered.

Uno, the beagle that won Westminster previously was in Chattanooga last year. Quite a dog/handler team. Loved him baying at the judge.

Anyone interested in the TRUTH should attend the Chattanooga show in September. It's at Camp Jordan in East Ridge. Should be 11th and 12th.

Well after all that Nut is an expert on everthing! That's why they have the show it to be able to tell everone how smart they are and boy does that show...lol...lol.. They can tell you how you are supposed to raise your dog and if they don't agree they have been know to "Rescue" it from you. Better watch what you say or they will "Rescue" all the show dogs in Dade and Surrounding Counties. Oh wait has that already been going on?????????

What, exactly, constitutes a well taken care of dog, then? Extremely pampered show dogs have horrible lives and dogs being "abused" have horrible lives, and dogs in kennels have horrible lives , dogs running loose aren't safe - wait a minute.....doesn't that cover every dog?

You can tell people who have NEVER showed Animals eather it be K-9's or Livestock... In most cases they are better taken care of than people. They get the best food, Medical Care, Pampering and a lot of loving. That is why showing livestock and dogs teach young people how to care for animals. For those Critics who have no clue..they can go suck an egg for all I care. My son still has one of his show cows that when she has a calf she comes to the fence by the back door to have it so she can make sure we see it. She Is getting older but she dies she will still be on this farm, She is a member of the faimly.

Well according to PETA types, first a well taken care of dog is spayed/neutered and then they are treated like a human child -- oh, and if you are a perspective home don't have any REAL children or else you would be turned down. Everyone knows that human children are TOO much competition for the 'fur coat' wearing type.
