After hearing about last night's meeting, I just wonder what has been bid out on this project. The wiring of the building? Don't laugh! It wasn't in the other building they bid out. I don't even consider this an EXTRA. For folks that don't know what an extra is, it is something that has to be added after the bid, but the wiring should have been part of the building. My goodness folks... The FOX is eatin in the HEN-HOUSE, and not even tryin to hide it......

The station with the information just announced that up to 30 grand more is to be spent on this building, for wiring and other things... What does that put the total up to? Almost 100 grand for a 20X30 building and they think they can bulid this Civic Center for under 500 Grand, Yea right!

Let me stand to correct myself. I'm pretty good somethimes at it...lol... I was just wondering what was the total (so Far) on Roger's building. That would be the building that the City is paying for to do what with, I have yet to hear a good reason (other than placing evidence in)....

The Commission approved a $30,400 bid to erect a storage building and concrete pad at City Hall, and rescinded a similar bid it had awarded previously. There had been problems with that bid, said Commissioner Sandra Gray.

Now with this added.

Gray also asked for the commission to approve the spending of up to $30,000 to complete the new building for use by the police department. The money will be used to complete the concrete, electrical wiring and a few other items to finish the building. Both requests by Commissioner Gray were approved unanimously.

That gives us a Grand total... (so Far) of 60,400.00 for a metal building for Roger to place evidence in? Is this a wise investment?

Well the City hasn't built it's biggest building yet. Just wonder if they will bid it out like the Roger Building. One bid to start the work and another bid to finish it. Why put the full amount in the first bid when you can add about the same amount on the second bid and double the cost of the building. Man this one would almost be funny if it wasn't so true.

I think I heard that a "Groundbreaking" was gonna take place on the Civic Center? More like a tax-payer breaking!!!!!!!!!!! Well they gotta be getting short on F.U.N. Funds!!!!!!Or was that T.O.Y. funds... Anyway about the same.....Don't worry about paving the streets or suppling the "Average citizen" with something they can really use.... Just built that Building and good gosh by all means get that office that someone needs to be able to adopt pets out of.... lol...lol..lol...

I wonder if the price includes the "Dirt Work" or "Site Prep". I know with the County Courthouse it was done by Lawson after the County had done alot of the fill. The Same contractor has the project bid but did it include this part of the job. Looking at the site, I would say that alot of works needs to be done in order to get ready for the Building. It can in itself run into thousands of dollars, just look at the Site where the Challenged Home is being built and still not ready for the building after all these months of filling and getting ready...

Rode by today and seen more "Chicken Scratching" going on. At this rate the site will be preped by the end of the summer.. I guess the City is trying to save money by doing the work themselves? One track-hoe (rented?) and one dumptruck....... And ROCK did I mention they had ROCK???????? lol...lol...lol...

Went by the site of the new Dog Pound/Civic Center today because a train had blocked all crossings and I wanted to go to the Sanitation removal station (notice how politically correct I was on this) to deposit some unusable material from our home. It was a surprise to see all the large rocks being removed and stacked neatly to the side of the site. Then it dawned on me the reason for it. I am sure that the plan is when someone rescues (Adopts) a dog or a cat they will be given a free one of a kind Rock to go with the animal. I am sure due to the large size of the stones they will be delivered by the city to the person’s home and gently placed in their Front yard so that all the neighbors will know how much they care about the welfare of animals. Also It marks animals on that yard has been neutered and cannot reproduce and have no value if taken by anyone who want them to sell for breeding purposes.

Wonder if we could get the same methods to remove rock from the Industrial park so we could get Maglev Mullis to get us some jobs in the county.Hummmmmm
