Wow I saw this article. Volkwagen's 15th Supplier Locates in Chattanooga. Thats when I decided to call this subject another missed opportunity. It is time for the commission to hold some accoutabilty. Did you see that? 15th supplier. Should we spell that out. -F-i-v-e-plus-t-e-n-. What is the JDA doing? They are busy right now in session in Atlanta. We should be getting at least quarterly but probably monthly reports at the commission meeting at what proactive steps they are doing if they still want our money. The same is true for the IDA. We don't need a report of we met for coffee and got paid $50 a meeting. We need action or we need reorganization. They need to report to the commission monthly. And I mean at the meetings inn front of the public or maybe it would be more beneficial to get out of the jda and hire our own developer or create a new development authority with Chattooga where we could split the salary. Here is the story. Volkwagen's 15th Supplier Locates in Chattanooga; Annual Salaries Average $60K http://wdef.com/news/volkwagens_15th_su ... 0k/02/2011
ATN Holzel LP has already selected a site along Wilson Road in Chattanooga.
The new German company will manufacture robotic equipment used to apply special glues for autos and solar equipment.
ATN's parent company decided to establish a permanent Chattanooga presence thanks to its relationship with Volkswagen and the area's growth potential.
Trevor Hamilton is VP of Economic Development for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, "This is just continued evidence of Volkswagen and what it means for our community. As suppliers and vendors to VW and in the automotive world now have Chattanooga on their radar screen."
ATN will create 15 to 20 jobs over the next three years.
Interested parties should contact the Tennessee Career Center.
Those with German language skills are encouraged to apply.
