I was reading somewhere about has to provide alternate schooling on the high school report. Wouldn't just be cheaper to send em all the Chattanooga Christian? They might even be able to lower property taxes. We could sell the High School to a VW supplier....lol and through a mutual aid agreement with the DOT the city could repave 136.

Dade Elementary Meets AYP, DMS, DCHS, and Davis Fall Short7-26-2011
The AYP or Adequate Yearly Progress reports are out for the school systems in Georgia. At first glance it appears that Dade County did not do very well.
At first glance????????? They did NOT DO WELL? How many folks that fail 3 out of 4 in their jobs keeps them? But hey Dade Elementary meets it! Now while I don't have a dog (Child) in the fight, I just find it funny that "Tha Fluffer" falls over backward to not say anything that will hurt any feelings even though it still ain't right!
I know that I used to get a Whippin for a failing grade along with a 6 week grounding till my grades improved, but now days it's just a different time and place... AND IT SHOWS!

David started this post with the topic line of ... Three out of fours schools do not make AYP, but yet our local media continues to bury and cover the facts with Dade Middle makes AYP and the quote of "At first glance" with a letter from the principle that was from the school that passed and not from those who failed.
I do understand that Goverment is why we fail, because the fact to receive funds the accountability is put on the money and NOT THE KIDS! The goverment sets the guidelines and standards, but I think somewhere I read that "IF" you fail two years in a row that accountability is held.
The thing that saddens me is that as a taxpayer (who don't have kids) only hear the quote.. "It's fer the Kids" when it comes to sports or money.
On a good note Dade's Graduation rate has gone up to 79% in 2011. In 2010 it was 77.4%. https://public.doe.k12.ga.us/DMGetDocum ... 958&Type=D The only other High Schools in GA with a higher graduation rate in Walker, Catoosa and Chattooga counties was Ringgold High School with a graduation rate of 83% and Gordon Lee HS with a rate of 99.1%. The state average for 2011 was 80.9%. https://public.doe.k12.ga.us/DMGetDocum ... 11%20(0225).pdf?p=6CC6799F8C1371F69165E79F6B2D4A916A986A80C049147A7E83FCCF4A285AE8&Type=D
